Prime Social/Emotional Development
Prime children are an integral part of the whole Sage community. Our third-through-fifth-grade students are buddies with Prime students. Every week, our whole school meets at an all-school meeting to build connections between our youngest and oldest children. Exceptional transition programs ease second-grade students’ movement to the Junior Division.
Beyond the school day, a Prime student may attend Before School and Aftercare programs. The Sage Parent Association plans monthly activities for all Prime children that encourage fun and learning. Parents and teachers develop a strong partnership due to meaningful communication that occurs throughout the school year. In addition to typical activities such as Back-to-School Night, conferences, and progress reports, parents attend literacy, math, thematic, and community service events.
These student perspectives are true testaments of the Sage kindergarten through second grade experience:
“Sage is special because it has awesome teachers, books, games and friends!” First grader
“I don’t want to leave (at the end of the day) because this is my home!” Second grader
