Library
The library strives to be the intellectual center of The Sage School, linking the school community to a wide circle of literature, knowledge, and information. The mission of The Sage School library is to enhance classroom curriculum by providing a forum for various academic pursuits, from storytime for our youngest students through scheduled research support for older students. As a library for academically gifted students, our library works to support the research, reading, viewing, and instructional needs of the students and staff. The library meets these needs by acquiring, processing, and providing user-friendly access to quality resources in a variety of formats, including nonfiction, fiction, and reference materials.
The Pre-K students are introduced to the library mostly through storytime, while Prime students have scheduled library time each week, during which they select books to check out of the library and read either during or outside of their scheduled library class. In the Junior Division, students begin to use the library more as a resource for research and writing, while continuing to check out materials for entertainment. Our Middle School students use the library as a place for study before and after school and as a resource center for research related to their academic pursuits.
