Co-Curricular

2008SageNOV20-201642At Sage, the term “co-curriculars” encompasses art, music, physical education, drama, dance, health and wellness, Spanish, and Latin. These classes are pivotal to the balanced development of the child and, therefore, are an integral part of the Sage curriculum. It is common to find that the topics explored in the co-curricular areas support the learning occurring in other classes. This interdisciplinary approach supports best practices in learning and teaching by creating important connections that students may not otherwise perceive. For example, our fourth graders might be learning human biology in science, which is reinforced in their Spanish class and brought to life in creative movement exercises. The richness and depth of the programs are specifically designed for gifted students to extend their knowledge and broaden their horizons.
