Performing Arts Teacher Presents at NE Gifted Conference

This year’s New England Conference for Talent Development and Gifted Education conference was held on October 24 and 25 in Portland, ME.  Ms. Danielle Bazinet, Arts Department Chair and Performing Arts Teacher, presented a workshop, “Engaging the Gifted Student in a Creative Movement Setting Using Dance Notation. ” Engaging students to participate in creative movement activities is not always easy when students are uncomfortable moving their body for a variety of reasons. In this presentation participants were introduced to a dance notation unit for gifted students through video, documentation, and the opportunity to try a few shortened assignments.
