National Spanish Exam Awards
Congratulations to Sage’s Middle School Spanish students who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2014 National Spanish Examinations!
Sage students earned a total of four gold, eleven silver and eight bronze medals, as well as twelve honorable mentions. “Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 154,000 students participating in 2014.” Felicidades to our gold medal winners, Ellie B., Derek R., Andrew M., and Jeremy C.; silver medal winners, Annmarie K., Noa P., Alex T., Nathaniel C., Bridget C., Adam C., Anay M., Olivia M., Jessica R., Jack R., and Julian A.; and bronze medal winners, Jake R., Audrey B., Nataly K., Maeve S., Josh B., August D., Noah P., and Teddy W.
The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades six through twelve, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Sage students participate in levels 01 (6th grade), 1 (7th), and 2 (8th) of the contest, and Sage has been administering the exam since 2009.
