Sage Theater Group Presents “The Little Mermaid, Jr.”

On Friday, May 24, The Sage School Theater Company presented a production of The Little Mermaid Jr. at the Foxboro Orpheum Theatre located in Foxboro Center.

The Sage School Theater Company consists of 30 students in grades 5-8 who are members of the school’s Afterschool Theater program. This program is designed for students who are interested in studying theater more in depth under the guidance of Arts Department Chair and Performing Arts Teacher, Danielle Bazinet and Sage Alum, Christian Pirnie ‘05. Students audition for speaking and singing roles, but many other students participate as members of the chorus and also work as set crew, creating sets and props to use during the show.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our students to participate in a full scale musical at the middle school level,” says Danielle Bazinet. “Having the opportunity to work with the Orpheum Theater is a wonderful introduction for them that may lead to future performing opportunities in secondary school and community-theater.”
