Guided Discussion Groups for Parents

The Sage School, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Association for Gifted Education (MAGE), is pleased to announce a new program designed to assist parents. Guided discussion groups, led by two experienced facilitators, will provide information and parenting strategies related to the social and emotional needs of gifted children. The program will focus on what parents can do at home to improve their parenting skills as they relate to their bright children. Parents who have participated in similar programs have become helpful allies as they learn to work in partnership with teachers to jointly meet the needs of these students.

The kick-off meeting is Thursday, October 27 at 7:00pm with a presentation on
“Advancing Individual Potential: Myths, Realities & Actions.” This meeting is free and open to the public. Parents may sign up for the subsequent 5-part discussion series at the kick-off meeting. The guided discussion group meeting dates are Thursday, November 3, 10, 17 and December 1 and 8. All meetings will start at 7:00pm and will be held at The Sage School located at 171 Mechanic Street in Foxboro. Directions are available at www.sageschool.org.

Those interested in attending the guided discussion groups, but unable to attend the initial meeting, should contact Sarah Kotwicki at skotwicki@sageschool.org.
